Decorative Pie crusts

Decorative Pie Crusts- Martha Stewart

Today lets talk about pie! I want to share three holiday pie recipes from Martha Stewart that I have grown to love. Martha Stewart’s recipes are intense sometimes but they are always, in my opinion, worth the extra effort. Most of her recipes include an element of artistry throughout them which I think is what sets her food apart from basic recipes.  Every pie recipe I have followed to the tee of hers has come out fantastic. So, since Thanksgiving is less than a month away and the chill is brewing in the air… here are a few pies for you to try this season!

Pecan Pie

Pecan Pie- Martha Stewart

Try this wonderful pecan pie recipe by Martha Stewart, this pie is fantastic, my whole family loves it! Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.  All three of these pies can be made with Martha Stewart’s signature pate brisee recipe a pie dough that does not rise during baking because it does not have a leveling agent, otherwise known as a “shortcrust pastry”. Alternatively, for the pecan pie, I highly recommend her cream cheese pie crust which balances out the rich, sweet, taste of the pecan pie.

Apple Blackberry Pie

Next up, try this apple blackberry pie recipe! It looks amazing with its beautiful “fall leaves” pate brisee and it is an unexpected combination that fulfills the classic apple pie treat with a little twist.

Pumpkin Cream Pie

Pumpkin Cream Pie- Martha Stewart

And last, the classic, pumpkin cream pie recipe. This is hands down the best pumpkin pie I have ever made or tasted. Largely because it adds a cream element in with the pumpkin, making it stand alone. Trust me, if you can pull off this pie with the beautiful topping you will feel like a pie champion and be rewarded with deliciousness!!!

Pie, Pie and more Pie! I love the holidays, here they come…..
