One of my favorite hobbies is watercoloring. It is really relaxing to make different blends with watercolor on paper. The great thing about this hobby is that it is inexpensive and it can be shared with children. Gemma really likes painting and it is really fun for me to watch her make her own art. To set up a simple watercolor station all you need is:

– canson watercolor paper (if you buy the large pad 12×18, you can easily cut the paper to small toddler sizes.)

– prang watercolors, they are only about 6 bucks and come with a brush

– water container

– table, I use a plastic play table for easy cleanup

***you can also add fun creative touches like using a white crayon and letting your preschooler watercolor over his/her name or use painter’s tape to create lovely borders. For more fun ideas like the ones illustrated above check out the watercoloring techniques of this cute art blog Corey Marie.

Watercolors make great cards/stationery for Grandma and great thank you notes!
